SUPER NAWEEK YOUNG ARTISTS COMPETITION
As part of the Super Naweek Musiek & Familiefees, we are organising a nationwide talent competition to find the next generation of Super Afrikaans artists. This competition is open to all school learners in Grades 10, 11 and 12.
We are looking for top young talent in three main categories:
- Individual artists
- Bands (with the maximum of 5 band members)
Kurt Darren and his panel of judges will choose two finalists in each of the above categories. The 6 finalists will then get the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of performing at Super Naweek, which is being hosted in the prestigeous Blythedale Event Bowl. There will be one overall winner who will win R5 000 and also get a chance to perform on stage with one of South Africa’s top artists.
If you wish to launch your music career, then read the Terms & Conditions on the Blythedale Event Bowl website (www.eventbowl.co.za), and then load your video onto the Super Naweek Facebook page (@SuperNaweek). Loading your video on the Facebook page is acknowledgement that you have read and understood the Terms & Conditions.
TERMS & CONDITIONS
Super Naweek is looking nationwide for South Africa’s next generation of Super Afrikaans artists from 26 March to 25 May 2018.
The competition is open to all school learners in Grades 10, 11 and 12.
There are three categories and two finalists will be chosen from each category:
- Individual artists
- Bands (a maximum of 5 members)
To enter you need to create your own video and upload the video to the Super Naweek Facebook page. The creation of your video is for your personal account.
Judging will be done by a Kurt Darren and his panel of judges. The judges will choose 2 finalists from each of the categories. The judge’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Each finalist will have the opportunity to perform on stage on Saturday 23 June 2018 at the Super Naweek. (The finalists are to provide their own transport to the venue but meals on the day will be provided for you).
The overall winner will win be announced after their performance on Saturday and the winner will receive the R5 000 prize.
Individual artists can supply their backing track. (The backing track will need to be with the organisers by no later than 15 June 2018).
Parents/Guardian are to sign an indemnity once the finalists are chosen, confirming that they are in agreement with their child/guardian performing on stage at Super Naweek at the Blythedale Event Bowl.
The closing date for entries is Friday 8 June 2018.
Super Naweek reserves the right to use video’s and/or images of the finalists on their social media platform.
Super Naweek reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel and/or suspend the competition. The prize is not transferable to others or exchangeable.
